greyscale s 25th full length album comes from one of our most favorite and longtime label guests. who else? but, gradient! all and all, this is his 4th album with us and each album seems to just get better and better. similar to previous albums, each track is named in numerical order after a word taken from the album s name. while this makes it a bit more difficult to remember which track is which it also leaves everything up to your own imagination. there is no visual to these heavy techno focused tracks.

marking its 11th release, leicester-based label city fly welcome philpot regular tim toh to its already impressive roster spanning dj nature, fred p, andres, medlar and basic soul unit. the berlin artist is also renowned for his works on the likes of ornaments music, delusions of grandeur and mild pitch, and his idiosyncratic vision of electronic music is one shared with the discerning minds behind city fly. ‘endlessly’ is a track that melds interlinking rhythms with vocal snippets before easing in to a beautiful rhodes sequence containing all the hallmarks of an absolute floor filler. ‘everything’ then features the beautiful vocals of ranavalona to engineer a track dripping with pure soul, making way for a remix from thatmanmonkz that focuses on rhythm whilst boiling the piece down to a slice of timeless house. finally ‘expectations’ is a number exhibiting toh’s avant-garde approach to music production whilst still focusing squarely on the dancefloor.

having launched the balance music sublabel last year in a curatorial manner with the purpose by design compilation project, chez damier returns to helm the fourth release and fans of the detroit icon will be happy to see say the word features some all new original productions. side a offers a brand new track -tudor por amor- highlight the perfectness of damier s roots in house and techno, whilst also doffing a proverbial cap to new york house thanks to it s percussive vibe. complementing this is an unreleased version of the chez classic -forever mona- that subtly recalibrates the late 90s cut for both house and techno ears. on the flip we get a taste of heart 2 heart, a new collaboration between damier and young french producer ben vedren, with -shigan- featuring in both rex dub and detroit 3000 dub form.

after appearances on werkstoff and kammer musik neal white is back home on eintakt records with a quite playful while straight ahead thinking 12 inch. we start off deep underwater with the title track, a melancholic dubtechno drifter with a touch of pop called goldfish. enjoyable pianos, a rainy atmosphere, some classic chords and that tasty voice by klavinora make that track a proper name giver. after that wet a-side we come up afloat facing the livefish remix from rhauder (famous artist on the great label ornaments) on the other vinyl side, a reduced (even a bit) stoic floor operator, driving us through the confusions of the autumn sea. coming ashore and meeting queen ema is peaceable after all that. conciliating with the world and weather while getting surrounded by warm pads, curly effects and again the piano hints played by klavinora

being one half of glasgow’s solab & 7th sign recordings affiliate, carlos nilmmns knows all about delivering deep driving techno and house. with his critically acclaimed mini album called subculture on ornaments last year, it is time for a full album called lune eclaire in 2012. lifeworld presents 6 of nilmmns’ finest tracks to date on this beautiful dark red marbled piece of wax. the producer’s skills range from deep driving techno to electronica, from acid to pumping house.

deeplabs is a new record label out of detroit created and managed by detroit producer and dj luke hess. after several highly successful releases on labels such as fxhe, echocord, beretta grey, & kontra-musik and celebrated remixes on ornaments, pong musiq, and modelisme, luke has decided to take his style of deep detroit techno and root it firmly in the city that inspires his sound. deeplabs is a label created for the deeper, soulful, and experimental side of electronic music, with a clear vision of the dj and the dance-floor.

2009 is quite obviously sven tasnadis year, having already released five eps this year on cream-of-the-crop labels like pokerflat, ornaments and liebe*detail. each ep revealed a new facet of the leipziger, riding the nuances between the 4/4 beat. after his ep >down under influence< with juno6 in spring 2009, tasnadi now dishes up his new solo ep on cargo edition. >what we do< is a classic housetrack - very deep and peppered with vocal shots that hold the tension of the track over its whole length. it s smooth, yet deliciously rough around the edges. >amour fou< on the b-side surprises with a very compact rhythm - around the driving bass drum fly percussive elements, all tied together by a reduced bassline, some interspersed vocal samples and deep chords.

2009 ist das jahr von kleinschmager audio. nach seinem debutalbum im märz folgen nun die ersten remixe. >helicotrema< wird von sven tasnadi (oh!yeah!, pokerflat) auf gekonnt minimal-technoide art und weisere-interpretiert. drums und percussions stehen von beginn an voll im vordergrund, werden aber nach und nach ausgedünnt, um in folge dieser spannungsgeladenen steigerung noch kraftvoller wieder einzusteigen. einenergetisches dj tool par excellence. >emphasis< bekommt von marko fürstenberg (ornaments, a.r.t.less, thinner) seinen gewohnt deepen detroit dub techno stempel aufgedrückt - einfach zeitlos. grund genug, diesem remix gern die komplette b-seite der 12“ zu geben. zwischen beide remixe gesellt sich mit >tuba auditiva< noch eine singleauskopplung. der track mit der saxophon-hook ist einer der knaller des albums und fehlte bisher einfach auf vinyl.

baum005 are no other than marko fürstenberg of a.r.t.less/rotary- cocktail/ornaments and thinner fame. on the b side the artist sgi_s joins with a remix. what can you say, but espenhain on the a side is a dancefloor filler. a tight compressed, kick and marko s atmospheric touch of dubby techno. the espenhain remix on the b side, is shaped by swiss artist sgi_s. this track is more of a pure techno track with a old school feeling to it. appegiator groove with a break that builds up to a peak point, but still manages to be deep. ratsholz is the last track on the ep, a soundscape of hiss and noises that forms the hypnotic groove of the track. it starts slowly but it evolves into a sure late night track with a nice melody!

heiko laux presents his fifth solo-album >waves<! his debut album >liquidsm<, the lp s >the oldschool street<, >sensefiction<, >ornaments< and many 12inch-releases on his own label kanzleramt as well as productions for labels like hardhouse, tresor, synewave or kurbel have allowed heiko to become an integral part of the electronic music scene as producer and dj. he has produced with many artists such as anthony rother, johannes heil, ellen allien and he has also been remixed by artists like alter ego, surgeon or ricardo villalobos. in 2003, heiko started >offshore funk< and focussed his work from then on on this project but now time has come for the fifth heiko la solo-album <waves<!
